Updating Patient Status
EMR Ghana helps you track the final status of a patient's visit or lifetime record.
1. Marking a Patient as Deceased (Died)
To record a patient's death:
- Open the patient's active Consultation.
- Navigate to the Outcome tab.
- Select Died from the outcome options.
- Fill in the date and time of death and any required notes.
- Save the consultation outcome.
2. Left Against Medical Advice (AMA/LAMA)
If a patient choose to leave the facility against clinical advice:
- Open the patient's active Consultation.
- Navigate to the Outcome tab.
- Select LAMA (Left Against Medical Advice).
- Document the reasons and the patient's refusal of care in the notes.
- Complete the consultation outcome.
3. General Status Updates
For other status changes (e.g., active, inactive), please contact your system administrator for profile-level record modifications.
[!CAUTION] Marking a patient as Died is a permanent status update on the patient's profile. Ensure the data is verified before saving the consultation outcome.
[!IMPORTANT] Both cases require official documentation and should only be performed by authorized medical or administrative personnel.
